Besides being an artist, I’m a copywriter. I’ve spent much of my life seeing some of the most absurd trends in advertising. The term, “anti aging” is just that. I can’t see it without seeing the humor in it.
What’s more, using “anti” makes the entire notion sound like a protest, which is how this painting came about – a scene of women, of all ages, protesting aging. It’s set against the contrast of a city filled with happy colors and clear skies – it’s as perfect and unreal as the concept of defying age.
Ultimately, the personality of the painting is wry, fun and colorful.
